Matcha Green Tea has a long time historical tradition in Japan, being incorporated into traditional Japanese tea drinking ceremonies. Matcha, which literally means "finely powdered tea," is made from the young green tea leaves. Many believe there are additional benefits to Matcha compared to other green tea preparations as you are able to drink the whole plant and receive all the benefits which would normally get removed after steeping.
With a bold color and mildly sweet flavor, most find this tea to be purely delectable. This tea contains caffeine.
One serving of Matcha can be prepared in seconds with hot or cold water.
Hot Preparation: Place up to a ½ teaspoon of Matcha into a bowl or cup. Add 4-5 ounces of water preferably around 175°F. Whisk until frothy, making sure to break up any small clumps of Matcha, creating a smooth and creamy texture. It is normal for some debris to settle on the bottom.
Cold preparation: Add 1 tsp of Matcha per 8 ounces of cold water in a mason jar or water bottle. Add a sealed tight lid, shake until matcha is completely mixed and enjoy the wonderful benefits of green tea as a cold beverage.
