Sel gris, or "grey salt", is harvested by hand in France from clay lined salt pools along the French Atlantic coast and is solar vaporized. This gourmet salt is known for its grey color, low sodium content and high moisture and mineral content. Full flavored, but not too salty, it is one of the tastiest and healthiest sea salts, providing the benefits of salt without the negative side effects we commonly see with generic salt. This salt has a high moisture content of up to about 13% so it does not absorb or suck out all the moisture from your food or body.
