Eucalpytus radiata-Australia
Eucalyptus radiata’s minty scent is deeply refreshing, clearing and invigorating, setting it apart from the more dusky, camphor-like Eucalyptus globulus and the citrus-like Eucalyptus citriodora. The oil is commonly used for respiratory support and immune support. Eucalyptus radiata is also less potent than Eucalyptus globulus and therefore better suited for use with children and pregnant women.
Add a few drops to a diffuser or inhale directly from the palms to feel the cooling vapors expand the lungs, support immunity, and stimulate mental clarity. Apply to aches, pains and sore muscles by combining with a carrier oil and rubbing it into the area.
Make a natural vapor rub by blending 20 drops Eucalyptus radiata, 15 drops Lemon and 12 drops Tea Tree into 1/2 ounce of lotion. Apply a small amount to the chest and upper back, repeating as needed.
Eucalyptus radiata can also be used in diffusers, aromatherapy inhalers, smelling salts, household cleaners and room sprays.
Make a natural bug repellant by mixing 40 drops Eucalyptus radiata, 12 drops Lemongrass, and 30 drops Lavender, to 1 and 3/4 ounce water with 2 tablespoons of witch hazel alcohol. Use a misting cap and shake well before each use. Apply as needed, avoiding contact with the eyes.
