About: German Chamomile essential oil has a royal blue color and a sweet, calming, floral aroma. German Chamomile has an exhaustive amount of literature recommending it for hundreds of uses, but it is best known for promoting a healthy emotional state, relaxation, sleep, normal digestion, muscles, joints and skin. Historically, Chamomile has been used by humans for over 3,000 years and has played an essential part in the pharmacopeias of the ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks. Throughout European history chamomile has been planted as ground cover at churches and monasteries for its revered calming effects.
Common Uses: Traditionally, Chamomile has been used to make herbal teas, compresses and salves for maintaining and promoting healthy digestion, relaxation and sleep. Aromatherapists often add Chamomile essential oil to salves, massage oils, and calming blends.
