Julie Caldwell

Julie Caldwell, MA, is the creator of Humboldt Herbals and has had the great pleasure to serve the community as an herbalist for over 20 years. She's a constant student of medicinal plants and the healing arts, and loves to teach about the beautiful and elegant relationship between people and plants. Marea Zendran

Marea is a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist, Herbalist, and Nutrition Counselor She began working with Humboldt Herbals in 2012 as s Staff Herbalist and in 2014 became Manager. She graduated from the California College of Ayurveda as a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and has worked diligently to understand the ability the body has to heal itself and how the plants can assist in this process. She is fascinated, on a daily basis, by the healing benefits the plants have to offer. She is a dedicated Community Herbalist and can be found any day during the week at the herb bar, sharing her knowledge and a lifelong love of plants. She is available to answer questions or address any concerns one may have. She is a dedicated yoga student and musician and always has an interesting project underway. She loves to wildcraft and wander through the beautiful forests or roam the beaches gathering seaweed. She maintains a private practice and is available for consultation by appointment.

Alyssa Boyd

Alyssa is a graduate of Dandelion Botanical Center where she cultivated her passion for herbal medicine. There she learned how to approach healing with a variety of plants and preparations. As a lifelong lover of Pacific Northwest flora, she considers herself blessed to cohabit a region rich with compassionate teachers—both human and herb. She has enjoyed working in different settings to broaden her knowledge of plants including university, herb school, medicinal herb gardens, and even a holistically-run goat dairy. Alyssa believes nature to be the best setting for deepening understanding, so you can find her wild crafting and seeking out unique plant habitats in her spare time. She loves observing the ability of herbal healing to help people connect with the planet as well as with their own healing nature. For this reason she is glad to serve with the staff at Humboldt Herbals!

Amanda Moore

Amanda Moore has been studying herbal medicine since 1997. She is a graduate of The Dandelion Herbal Center, studied with Candice Cantin, and Rosita Arvigo. She is a certified massage therapist, specializing in deep tissue structural bodywork, and a Certified Maya Abdominal Therapy Practitioner. She also has completed 3 years of Spiritual Healing with Dr Arvigo in Belize. She has a passion for fermented foods and loves to teach and share the art of crafting these super foods. She's a mother of 3 and has lots of experience practicing herbal medicine with her family. She truly believes laughter is the best medicine!

Jennifer Teixeira

Jennifer Teixeira AKA Bird is a Massage Therapist and Herbalist. In 1999 she graduated from the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, California as a Certified Massage Therapist and Health Educator. Jen received Rosemary Gladstars Science and Art of Herbalism Course Certificate and is a constant student of the healing art of Herbalism. She has taught classes on Herbalism, Sacred Dance, and Massage at various shops and events around the globe. Bird has worked providing Herbal remedies to the unhoused population of Eureka and works as Volunteer lead Herbalist at the Eureka Community Herbal Self Care Clinic. Cheryl Wright

Cheryl has always had a love for the people, plants and animals around her. She started her formal herbal studies in 2016 with Jane Bothwell at Dandelion Herbal Center, taking classes, working in the garden and assisting in the clinic. She has continued to expand her knowledge with Dandelion Herbals' visiting herbalist program that focused on plant spirit medicine. These courses ignited something inside her that had been missing. She continues on the plant path taking as many courses as possible, including Humboldt Herbals class series taught by our lovely staff and at HSU/CCAT taught by Marina Gomes of Farm Apothecary. The next program she started was at the Northwest School for Botanical Studies with Christa Sinadinos, and completed both the Professional Herbalist Training and Clinical Herbalist Training Programs. During this year, she also studied Pulse diagnosis with Wil Morris. Cheryl enjoys wild-crafting, making salves, face/body creams, teas and tinctures to help those around her. She is truly grateful to be a part of the staff here at Humboldt Herbals to help assist the community!

Jessica Shepherd

Jessica Shepherd has been studying the healing arts and working with plant medicine since 1999. She's a graduate of the Dandelion Herbal Center, and is an Aromatherapist internationally certified through the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy. Jessica has been blessed to study with acclaimed herbalists from around the country, and happily continues to regularly attend a wide variety of herbal conferences, classes, and gatherings. For over a decade she has been fortunate to be a Community Herbalist for Humboldt Herbals, and continues to offer her services there seasonally. Jessica is also a passionate Wild-Crafter and Botanical Perfumer who loves creating herbal products for body and soul.

Annie Williams

Annie Marie Williams was born in Lincoln, NE. She travelled from the Midwest to the Pacific Northwest in 2007, as a young blossom. She remembers her first moment beneath the Redwoods as a grounding breath of fresh healing air and the ocean calling her home. With waves of artistic passion for flowers, she found her family here through the healing energy of our community. She is a florist, artist, musician, writer, and lover. Photosynthesis has honored each experience that has brought her forward. She completed the Professional Herbalist Training Program and Clinical Studies Program in 2018 at the Northwest School for Botanical Studies with Christa Sinadinos and looks forward to healing with you. The Pacific Northwest’s heart’s ecology and musical community continues to hold her here in Humboldt County, and motivates her to spread her wings towards the betterment of natural healthcare for us all.
